Aims & Objectives

1. To cause for the development and maintenance of high standard of education philosophy; education policy; legal, regulatory and institutional arrangement in the Basic and Secondary Education in sub sector.

2. To eliminate the scourge of out of school children; maintain the highest standard of enrolment, attendance and retention with spepcial attention to the girl education.

3. To ensure the adequacy in quantity and quality of teachers and para teaching personnel.

4. To cause for the evolution and maintenance of standard teaching and learning environment (e.g. Infrastructure, ICT and E-learning materials & teaching approach).

5. Ensure equal access to early childhood development and free and compulsory basic and post-basic quality for all children of school age in the state with emphasis on the girl child.

6. Ensure prudential management of the fund and asset in accordance with best international practices.
