Yobe Education Trust Fund inspects model, mega schools
As part of efforts to revitalise education in the state, the Yobe Education Trust Fund (YETFUND) has embarked on inspection tour to the newly constructed 7 model and 5 mega schools across the senatorial zones of the state.
The committee has so far inspected model and mega schools in Potiskum town under Zone B; Damaturu and Buni-Yadi,Gujba local government area in Zone A; Gashua and Nguru in Zone C, respectively.
The YETFUND chairman, Engr. Mohammed K. Abubakar, said the visit would give the committee a basis to prepare for the intervention.
Engr. Abubakar stated that the next line of action after the inspection visit would be determined after a meeting with relevant stakeholders in the educational sector in the state.
He revealed that the committee “will hold a meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Education, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and outline critical issues that needed intervention.
The community also paid a visit to the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr Muhammad Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa and Emir of Potiskum, Umaru Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya and that of Gujba, Mai Mukhtar Ibn Ali Gangaran at their respective palaces.
The committee chairman explained that they were in Potiskum to inspect the model and mega schools provided in the town by the state government.
