YETFund Inspects New Model Schools In Yobe
An inspection visit was paid on Monday by Yobe State Educational Trust Fund (YETFund) to its new mega and model schools in the state.
Mr Muhammad Abubakar, the Chairman of the trust fund, was in Potiskum to lead the visit.
He said that the visit was to examine the state’s education facilities and prepare the basis for interventions based on the stakeholders’ requisitions.
Abubakar said after examining the facilities, they would meet the officials of the Ministry of Education and Yobe State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB) to outline critical issues that needed intervention.
He said the intervention would commence as soon as possible.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Gov. Mai Mala Buni on Nov. 9, 2021 inaugurated a 21-member committee to raise funds for the revitalisation of the education sector in the state.
Mr Musa Yarima, the Project Site Engineer of the schools, said each secondary school had 30 classrooms, administrative block that had the principal and vice principal’s offices, toilets, male and female staff rooms.
Yarima said that in the primary section, there were head teacher and assistant head teacher’s offices, males and females staff rooms and toilets.
He added that the model school had clinic, library, ICT block, technical workshop and two-bedroom staff quarters in each of five model schools in the state.
